Make the Cold Brew Black Caf Coffee from Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge

Disney World is fast becoming a coffee lover’s dream and people can’t seem stop talking about the Cold Brew Black Caf. You can find it at Kat Saka’s Kettle inside Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios. Kat Saka’s has a selection of sweet and savory treats but the Cold Brew Black Caf is one of their most popular items on the menu. You’ve likely seen this delicious concoction in and around Batuu or on social media as people seem to just love it.

We experienced this delicious ice coffee last year, Now this is one of our go to spots at Hollywood Studios for a coffee pick me up. If you like strong iced coffee topped with a creamy, sweet foam with a twist of cocoa, this is the drink for you! The original recipe from Disney includes Joffrey’s iced coffee and a cream cheese cold foam and coco puff topping. We loved it so much we wanted to see if we could re-create it at home so everyday could have a coffee break in Batuu.

One of the things that makes the Cold Brew Black Caf so special is the mix of flavors that Disney has created. Fortunately, they are all ingredients we can easily find at any grocery store.

We started by buying some pre-made cold brew (but you could easily make your own) to pour over ice. You could also use regular iced coffee brewed to whatever strength you like. We wanted to keep the bold flavors so we bought some cold brew coffee concentrate from Trader Joe’s.

Then we mixed some whipped cream cheese (we found the whipped consistency keeps the foam fluffy) and some half and half together with a small hand blender. You could also use a smoothie blender or a hand whisk. Just make sure whatever you use that consistency is smooth with no lumps. Then slowly pour it over your glass of cold brew or iced coffee.

Now grab your Cocoa Puffs and top off your iced cold brew and cream cheese foam with as many cereal toppings as you want. We love flavor the Cocoa Puffs cereal adds to the strong cold brew as it sits in the coffee and releases the mocha flavor.

Some people like to sip slowly, layer by layer while others like to take a straw and mix it all together. You could use other kinds of cereal as well (Disney recently used chocolate Coca Krispies cereal during a recent Cocoa Puffs shortage). As for the cold foam mixture on top – some people prefer marscarpone cheese (due to its light consistency) instead of cream cheese. But cream cheese is a great alternative if you can’t find or don’t have marscarpone.
