The New Year is officially underway and Disney World has so many exciting things happening in 2024. From new attractions to the return of some guest favorites, read below for a few things to help make your #BestDayEver at Disney.
Park Hopping Returns
Yes, you heard us correctly. Park Hopping Returns….

On January 9th, Walt Disney World ended park reservations (with the exception of Annual Passholders who do still have to make reservations on weekends and some other dates throughout the year). They also allowed park hopping before 2pm, so once you finish rope dropping those popular rides at the Magic Kingdom, head on over to Hollywood Studios, Epcot or Animal Kingdom.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Both Disney World and Disneyland are expecting to unveil the highly anticipated Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which was announced back in 2020. This new attraction replaces Splash Mountain, a beloved water-logged ride that opened in 1989 in Disneyland and 1992 at Disney World. While fans do miss Brer Rabbit and friends, we are so excited to see Princess Tiana’s world which will include the same characters and the same music from the animated film. So get ready for “sometime in 2024” for this ride to be unveiled.
Epcot’s Communicore Hall and Plaza

Epcot had so many amazing things happen this past year from the unveiling of Moana’s Journey of Water and the opening of the New World Celebration Gardens. Communicore Hall and Plaza is another planned space to celebrate all the amazing festivals that Epcot hosts throughout the year. While this project was slated to open last year, It’s opening date was confirmed for sometime in 2024.
DISNEY Dining Plan Returns

The Disney Dining Plan is finally back! After a hiatus, the beloved optional add on for Disney resort guests has returned to Walt Disney World. You can pay for this Dining Plan before your vacation and prices start at $57 per night for adults and $23 for kids. Guests have options where they can select a dining plan for a certain number of meals or snack credits for each day of their vacation. The redemption plan is easy to track on your Magic Band + or Magic Mobile Pass and receipts are itemized and listed in the My Disney Experience app.
The Return of the Little Mermaid Show

When Disney World re – opened in 2020, the “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” at Hollywood Studios did not. But with a new Little Mermaid movie, it was only fitting for Disney to bring back the beloved show inside Animation Courtyard. “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” will return with Ariel and her dream to become part of the human world. We can’t wait to see the new sets and songs when the show re-opens in the fall of 2024.
Figment: Journey Into Imagination

Journey Into Imagination with Figment is having a comeback kids! Since its inception in 2002, this dark yet not scary attraction is considered a little wile and wacky. But when Figment returned as a character meet and greet in 2023, he drew hours long lines! Clearly the he nostalgic vibes were strong for kids who grew up loving Figment. The love for all things Figment has grown so strong that this year’s Festival of the Arts will have an entire menu dedicated to this lovable dragon.

At Figment’s Inspiration Station at the Odyssey: Art, Food, and Little Sparks of Magic, you can deliciously wacky treats like a Blueberry Pastry Tart, a Rainbow Cake with freeze dried Skittle bite sized candies and super cute Figment Premium Pppcorn Bucket with Rainbow Popcorn.
